The son of a monster who was with Ryu Hyun-jin went crazy for 21G in a row
"The trade should be considered while the value of hitters rises again."
The son of a monster, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. 25 of the Toronto Blue Jays, is crazy. He had 21 consecutive hits from the Arizona Diamondbacks game on July 15 to the Oakland Athletics game on July 10. During the period, he had a batting average of 0.506, 10 homers, 22 RBIs and 17 runs scored in 77 times at bat.
According to MLB, there are only eight players who have hit at least 20 consecutive games since 1901 with 10 home runs and a batting average of 0.500 or more during the period, including Rogers Hornsby in 1928, Jimmy Fox in 1933, Lou Gehrig in 1936, Frank Thomas in 1997, Larry Walker in 1999, Richard Hidalgo in 2000, and Chipper Jones in 2006 this year.
Guerrero can easily be found at the top of the American League's batting individual rankings. He had 143 hits in 443 times at bat in 115 games this season, hitting 0.323 with 23 home runs, 76 RBIs, 69 runs on-base percentage of 0.395 OPS 0.946. He ranks third in batting average, second in most hits, third in on-base percentage, sixth in slugging percentage, 11th in home runs, tied for ninth in RBIs and 12th in runs scored.
As Toronto was mired in a dispute over its ranking this season, many U.S. media outlets argued that it should trade Guerrero and Bobissett. However, Toronto did not declare a full rebuilding plan. It sold only a few pre-FAs, including Yusei Kikuchi Houston Astros, and declared a post-season challenge in the 2025 season.
Ben Nicholson Smith of Canada SportsNet said on the 10th that Toronto ultimately agreed on a plan to keep the door open for competition in the next season. In other words, Guerrero and Bissett, who earned free agency after the 2025 season, are expected to play a key role until next year.
Blitzer Report points out that the more Guerrero does, the greater the value of Guerrero's trade. On the 9th, he picked one player from 30 clubs to be traded in the 2024-2025 offseason. Toronto is by far Guerrero. Blitzer Report said, "It's noteworthy that Guerrero is still a member of Toronto. If Guerrero and Toronto fail to sign an extension contract, the situation becomes interesting."
The fact that Toronto has yet to give Guerrero and Bissett an extension contract is one of the arguments for the U.S. media to argue that the two should be traded. Guerrero, who has an annual salary of $2.9 million about 27.2 billion won this year, is certain to ask for much more money next year. Even if Toronto reduced its team's payroll through the summer trade market, it does not mean that Guerrero's ransom is not burdensome. 동행복권파워볼
If you are not going to sign an extension contract, it is a business to trade before becoming an FA. Blitzer Report said, "While the value of the slugger rises again, we should consider completing the trade." It is unknown what kind of report card Guerrero will receive this year, but it means that he should trade after the season. Guerrero's active performance now is a boon for Toronto for perfect rebuilding in a way.
